A global property and casualty provider is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable data solutions. The role involves architecting data pipelines, mentoring team members, and delivering insights through data visualizations. Candidates should have extensive experience in data engineering, particularly in the P&C insurance sector, and proficiency in SQL and BI tools.
Global Property & Casualty Provider seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong technical background and deep understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance data. In this role, you will lead the design and development of scalable data solutions that serve as the foundation for enterprise analytics and decision-making. You will help establish a single source of truth in our data lakehouse and deliver powerful data visualizations that enable stakeholders to uncover insights and take action.
As a senior leader within the data engineering team, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing complex data pipelines, modeling high-quality data sets, and applying data engineering best practices. You’ll also mentor other team members and help define our long-term data strategy.
Responsibilities:
Architect and implement end-to-end data pipelines, from ingestion to transformation, storage, and consumption.
Build and maintain reliable, analysis-ready data infrastructure supporting scalable business intelligence and analytics.
Apply modern data modeling techniques to support downstream reporting and analytical use cases.
Ensure high-quality data delivery by validating and testing at each stage of the pipeline.
Drive adoption of engineering best practices, including CI/CD, code reviews, and version control.
Take ownership of key data engineering initiatives and ensure timely, high-quality delivery. Data Analysis & Reporting
Partner with analysts and business stakeholders to develop and refine reporting solutions and dashboards using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Perform exploratory analysis to uncover patterns and trends that support strategic decisions.
Deliver clear, actionable insights that tie data to real business problems and opportunities.
Leverage knowledge of P&C insurance data (e.g., policies, claims, underwriting) to guide data modeling and transformation efforts.
Translate insurance concepts into accurate and meaningful metrics.
Experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire is a plus
Perform exploratory analysis, identify trends and patterns and draw conclusions from data sets
Extract complex data from multiple sources into usable and meaningful reports and analysis
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, business administration, statistics, computer science, or related field preferred.
10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, BI Analyst or equivalent work experience
Property and Casualty Insurance Experience Required
Proven experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and models
Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
Proficiency in data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes
Experience working with Azure cloud (ADF, ADLS, Data Fabric, etc.)
Experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau
Knowledge of database architectures and data modeling
Familiar with software engineering practices such as version control with Git, Testing, and CI/CD
