Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid - 1-2 days onsite)
Compensation: $50-55/hr Contract-to-Hire
We are partnering with a well‑established, financially stable organization in the insurance space that is undergoing a major data transformation initiative. The team is in the process of migrating to a modern cloud‑based data warehouse and is seeking a Data/Software Engineer to support this high‑impact effort.
This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity, beginning with a 3‑month contract and converting to a full‑time role.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Support the migration to a new Snowflake‑based data warehouse (target go‑live: September)
- Assist in building and maintaining modern data pipelines and warehouse architecture
- Work with ETL tools to extract and transform data from various systems
- Support and optimize data workflows using SQL‑based transformations
- Collaborate with a small, agile team across data and legacy systems
- Contribute to ongoing data infrastructure improvements and reporting capabilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using tools like Fivetran and DBT
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data transformation and analysis
- Support Snowflake data warehouse performance, structure, and integrations
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure data reliability and accessibility
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of professional experience (or strong internship/co‑op experience)
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake
- Strong SQL skills (critical requirement)
- Experience working with ETL/data pipeline concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fivetran and/or DBT
- Exposure to Python (or willingness to learn)
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar BI tools
- Small, collaborative team (4 members) with a mix of senior and junior engineers
- Exposure to both legacy systems and modern data architecture
- Opportunity to make a direct impact on a high‑visibility data migration project
