Job summary

Simon & Schuster US is seeking a QA / Test Automation Engineer to own data validation across parallel runs during a major modernization of order management and financial systems.

This role focuses on SQL-based validation, automated test suites, and AI-assisted testing to ensure exact parity between legacy and replacement outputs.

You will build reconciliation workflows, support UAT with business stakeholders, and contribute to a safer, faster production cutover.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA experience with a strong test-automation focus.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and reconciliation.
• Automated testing experience with NUnit/xUnit/pytest or equivalent.
• Data-centric testing for ETL/batch/migration projects.
• Experience using AI tools in testing or analysis is a plus.
• Root-cause discipline to trace discrepancies across systems.
• Clear written communication for validation reports.

Responsibilities

• Own first-pass reconciliation — compare legacy vs. replacement outputs at row level.
• Build automated regression and parity tests across releases.
• Test integrations and performance with warehouse, EDI, and financial systems.
• Gate production cutovers with evidence and run green standards.
• Coordinate business user testing (UAT) with stakeholders.
• Harden validation framework and improve data management and telemetry.
