Job summary

Lee Enterprises is seeking a motivated Product Owner to join our Data Services team, serving as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will ensure the product backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives.

The role combines product ownership with data collaboration, working with data engineers, analysts, Finance, and other stakeholders to translate needs into clear requirements and deliver maximum value each sprint.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and the PO role within a cross-functional team.
• Experience translating business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for backlog and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog reflecting business priorities and readiness for development.
• Translate business needs into clear user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical considerations.
• Ensure the backlog remains two-sprint-ready and aligned with product priorities.
• Make day-to-day prioritization decisions and provide clarity to the development team.
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, analysts, and Finance to translate requirements into actionable work and define acceptance criteria.
