Job summary

Academies of Math and Science – Nellis Campus in Las Vegas is seeking a data-driven Middle School Humanities Teacher for 8th grade to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and develop students’ reading, writing, and critical thinking.

The ideal candidate holds a Nevada teaching license, a bachelor’s degree in Humanities or a related field, and is committed to Title I communities, PBIS, and collaborative professional growth within AMS’s multi-state network.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver standards-aligned humanities instruction.
• Ability to analyze student data to inform instruction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned humanities instruction aligned with AMS curriculum frameworks.
• Develop reading, writing, critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
• Incorporate primary sources, current events, and real-world applications into lessons.
• Differentiate instruction and use assessments to guide planning and interventions.
• Establish a structured, positive classroom with PBIS and high expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development.
• Engage families and maintain home-school communication.
