Job summary

Burlington Stores seeks an Internal Audit Analyst to advance data analytics, automation, and tech-enabled testing across SOX and internal audits.

You will design reusable analytics, validate controls, and collaborate with business partners to strengthen processes while managing milestones and delivering actionable insights.

This role requires critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly; experience with Power BI/SQL/Python is a plus, supporting a dynamic audit program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, information systems, data analytics, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 1–3 years related professional experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, IT and/or internal audit; retail experience preferred.
• Progress toward CPA, CIA, CISA or other relevant certification preferred.
• Strong Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 proficiency.
• Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Python, ACL or IDEA preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and maintain reusable data analytics, visualizations, and automated approaches for audits.
• Support SOX controls testing procedures and walkthroughs with business owners.
• Review SOC reports, assess control exceptions, and follow up with owners.
• Assist with defining audit project scope and testing procedures.
• Identify risks and opportunities for process improvement and present findings to Management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine processes and drive audit effectiveness with technology.
