Job summary

Quanex in Irving, TX is seeking a Demand Planner to develop and maintain sales forecasts for assigned products. You will analyze demand trends, collaborate with Sales, Customers, and Product Management, and lead forecast reviews to improve accuracy and drive on-time supply.

You will partner with Master Planners to align forecasts with production capacity and inventory objectives, supporting new product launches and phased-outs while delivering reliable visibility across plants and customers.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or 7 years of experience in scheduling, inventory control, production, and manufacturing.
• Proficient in Excel, ERP systems (preferably SAP), and forecasting tools.
• Able to create forecasts based on various models and calculations.
• Advanced knowledge of Supply Chain Operations and Demand Management in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the forecast for a set of products.
• Update the forecast tool with the latest information for demand.
• Communicate demand information across plants for complete visibility of volume and metrics.
• Coordinate requests for changes to the forecast, run forecast models to see how changes will impact Operations.
• Run metrics around forecast accuracy and work to improve the process of forecast and demand review and creation.
• Work with the Master Schedulers and Supply Chain Managers to understand and implement the demand at the production level to assure supply is available when needed.
• Manage customer planning programs with Sales and Customer Service.
