About this Role:

The Enterprise Data and Information Management (EDIM), Data Analytics Division (DAD) at the California DHCS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Research Data Specialist I (RDS I) within the Data Fulfillment Branch (DFB). Under general direction of the Research Data Supervisor I (RD Sup I), the RDS I will perform a wide range of advanced research and data management and maintenance support tasks. The incumbent will develop, implement, maintain, and enhance database protocols related to health care policy and the Medi-Cal program as necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Data Transparency Section within the DFB of the DAD, EDIM, and DHCS. The RDS I is responsible for independently developing complex Medi-Cal healthcare program analytic products in response to requests from internal and external DHCS stakeholders. The RDS I works independently and in partnership with researchers, contractors, and professionals from state and national agencies.

Training and Development (T&D) assignments may be considered for this position for current California civil service employees. T&D assignments cannot exceed 24 months. However, successful T&D candidates may transition to a permanent appointment, if eligible at the end of the T&D assignment. This position has been advertised as limited term and is expected to last 24 months; it may become permanent or be extended.

Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 agreement

Telework and Salary Information

This position is currently eligible for telework.
