The New York City Department of Education (DOE) seeks a temporary, full-time data entry support specialist in the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. Qualifications

Position Summary

The New York City Department of Education (DOE) is the largest school system in the nation, with nearly 1 million students, 135,000 employees, including more than 80,000+ teachers and an annual budget of $38B. The Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (OEO)Management Manages and implements policies, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with equal opportunity laws.

Reports to

Deputy Director, OEO

Key Relationships

Works closely with the OEO Administrative and Intake Investigations Teams.

Responsibilities
  • Enter complaint information received during the intake process into the OEO Database.
  • Review and verify data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Identify and correct errors, discrepancies, and incomplete information in records and data systems.
  • Scan, organize, upload, and electronically file complaint-related documents and other records.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized electronic files and records.
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of complaint-related documentation and information.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ensure assigned data entry and administrative tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in data entry, clerical, administrative support, or related work preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong keyboarding and typing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of data management practices and recordkeeping procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with database systems and electronic record management.
Salary

: $35 per hour

(Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
