JOB OVERVIEW:

Children's Legal Services at IRC is made up of five program areas: Know Your Rights and screenings for children in ORR custody; direct representation for children released from ORR custody; two-way, child-centered information services through IRC's Signpost platform, ImportaMi; Play program, and remote initial legal services for detained and released children.

Data plays a crucial role in supporting core staff functions across the offices, including service provision, reporting and managing funder requests for information, staff supervision and the development of strong, evidence-informed programming. The Data Coordinator is responsible formaintaining data, quality assurance and data integrity, and ensure data is collected and added to appropriate funder's reporting system.The Data Coordinator will assist staff training of new data requirements, assisting with configuration and testing of system enhancements in programs not limited but including Airtable and PowerBi, query and report building, and quality assurance, with the goal of supporting service delivery for the Children's Legal Services.

Reports to Supervising Attorney for Remote Children's Legal Services and Senior Program Officer for ImportaMi; will work closely with the Director of Children's Legal Services. Data Coordinator will supervise Data and Reporting Specialist.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that data is completed and entered in a timely manner by Data and Reporting Specialist and in compliance with deadlines established by funding requirements.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for funders and internally for IRC.
  • Input event data into spreadsheets and various reporting software.
  • Review data entered by team members to ensure accuracy and completion.
  • Run data reports and ensure the funder database is appropriately updated.
  • Provide data and reporting support to Children's Legal Services staff that needs to be added to various databases monthly.
  • Provide data visualization resources to support through programs such as Power Bi to support Children's Legal Services.
  • Assist in the development of a core, standard system of data intake and entry that will align with required report needs, including review of programmatic procedures designed to collect data in real time.
  • Maintain confidentiality pursuant to legal ethics rules.
  • Coordinate with Director of Children's Services, Managing Attorneys, Supervising Attorneys, and Senior Program Officer for ImportaMi to identify needs at field level for technical assistance in reporting and tracking data; provide support and technical assistance through group and individual trainings to meet program reporting and data tracking requirements.
  • Run reports for program staff to inform programming and quality assurance activities.
  • Actively engage with and support RAI's Research, Analysis, and Learning team.
  • Assist in researching, developing and maintaining systems to make data reporting for Children's Legal Services more efficient.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Social Sciences, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Two years + knowledge of or experience with legal service case management or program management software, or other information systems for case/client management strongly preferred;
  • Previous experience working in a non-profit or social service agency environment helpful.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with Airtable, Power Bi, Lollylaw, Acacia's Unaccompanied Children's data and referral bases (UCLS and UCORD) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Flexible work attitude: the ability to work in a team environment, independently and meet unexpected demands.
  • Ability to effectively deliver remote technical assistance to a diverse and cross-cultural audience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills, with a proven track record to prioritize projects with an extremely keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate as part of multiple teams.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, proactive, initiative to problem solve, and exercise sound judgement. Fluency in both Spanish and English preferred (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Experience researching information online and through social media platforms and compiling relevant details as part of case file.
  • Evidence of capacity to be a strong team member in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Deep commitment to working with immigrants, children, and asylum seekers.
  • Personal integrity in handling ethically complex and confidential situations.
  • This is a remote position. Remote work is to be performed in one of the 50 U.S.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.
