Job summary

WorldLink seeks a Data Collection Technician to support the Robot Intelligence Lab in Mountain View. You will operate robotic hardware, cameras, and data pipelines to collect, validate, and organize high-quality datasets for robotic tasks.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of robotics-related experience, 2+ years with manipulators/humanoids, and familiar with ROS/ROS2 and sensors such as cameras or LiDAR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years robotics experience with manipulators or humanoids.
• 1+ years in teleoperation systems.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and sensors (cameras, LiDAR) is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect robot demonstration data using predefined protocols.
• Operate robots, teleoperation devices, and grippers.
• Set up and calibrate cameras, sensors, and data systems.
• Help set up computer vision annotation workflow.
• Ensure synchronization of vision, robot state, and sensor data.
• Verify data quality and flag corrupted demonstrations.
• Document experimental conditions and maintain detailed records.

We are seeking a Data Collection Technician who will be responsible for supporting the Robot Intelligence Lab. In this role, you will operate robotic hardware and data collection infrastructure to gather high-quality computer vision, teleoperation, and human demonstration datasets for robotic tasks. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with robots, cameras and other sensors, and computers. The candidate is also expected to follow experimental protocols and follow-up with research scientists on the team whenever protocols are unclear. This is a hands-on position focused on collecting, validating, and organizing data for robotics.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Collect robot demonstration and environment survey data using predefined experimental protocols.
• Operate robots, grippers, and teleoperation devices.
• Set up and calibrate cameras, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
• Help set up computer vision annotation pipeline.
• Ensure synchronization of vision, robot state, and sensor data.
• Verify data quality and identify failed or corrupted demonstrations.
• Document experimental conditions and maintain accurate records.
• Organize, label, upload, and maintain detailed records about collected datasets.
• Perform routine hardware inspections and report equipment issues.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting of robotics software and hardware.

Required Experience and Education:

• 2+ years prior experience working with robots (manipulators and humanoids) and 1+ years' experience working with teleoperation systems is required.
• Overall, 3-5 years professional experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree - Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.
• Prior experience working with robots (arms and humanoids) and teleoperation systems is required.
• Basic understanding of ROS/ROS2 and familiarity with different sensors such as cameras, LiDARs, etc.
