Phoenix OCC Data Clerk

Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Data Clerk. The Data Clerk conducts on-board ride checks to collect accurate ridership data which is utilized for state and federal reporting and to continuously improve customer service. The Clerk is also responsible for accurately reporting ridership data including boarded passengers and passenger miles. Approximately 80% of work is accomplished by riding in-service bus routes with the other 20% in office to complete reporting requirements.

• Competitive starting pay of $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Essential Job Functions:

• Coordinates random trip generation process for collection of transit data.
• Manages transit data collected through various data collection processes to generate extensive reports for the National Transit Database.
• Compiles data collected and prepared daily, weekly, monthly, annual and special reports
• Conducts on-board counts of boarding passengers and tracks passenger miles
• Alighting buses by location and time and accurately compiles the data into reports
• Conduct stationary checks of bus ridership and schedule adherence at maximum load points of routes, branch points and other special points
• Evaluates bus stop/shelter usage
• Distribute survey questionnaires to Riders
• Performs weekly on-board riding checks to determine fare payment methods or other necessary planning information per the City of Phoenix to achieve matching funds as required by the FT
• Coordinate and assist in the training of new Data Clerks
• Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which could include nights and weekends
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to assigned stops to board the bus

Education Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Skills & Knowledge Required

• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of the Metropolitan Phoenix area
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic math skills

• Must be able to work flexible work schedules as needed
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time on a consistent basis under extreme weather conditions
