Qualifications

• Experience managing subcontractors, project teams and complex project schedules.
• Familiarity with GMP, lump-sum or design-build delivery models.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with project management technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams, ensuring effective coordination and delivery.
• Oversee project budgets, financial forecasts, billings and commercial performance, identifying risks to profitability.
• Act as primary point of contact for project owners, managing expectations, contractual obligations and potential claims.
• Lead subcontracting strategy, procurement and buyout processes, negotiate contracts and purchase orders, and maintain commercial integrity.
• Develop mitigation strategies and manage contractual, financial and programme risks.
• Oversee design-phase activities on GMP and design-build projects, including GMP and lump-sum submissions.
• Manage schedule planning and execution, addressing risks to programme and project margins.
• Maintain accountability for site safety, contractual compliance and project-specific quality plans.
• Ensure successful project completion in line with contractual requirements.
• Mentor project teams and foster a positive, high-performing working environment.

Job description

I'm working with a client seeking an experienced Mission Critical Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale data centre construction projects in Pennsylvania.

This is a senior leadership opportunity with responsibility for overall project performance, including financial management, contractual compliance, risk mitigation, safety, quality and programme delivery.

Working closely with owners, design teams, subcontractors and internal project teams, you'll oversee projects from preconstruction and design through construction, commissioning and final closeout.

Relocation from other US states is welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead project teams, including project administrators, superintendents and engineers, ensuring effective coordination and delivery.
• Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, financial forecasts, billings and commercial performance, identifying risks to profitability.
• Client & Contract Management: Act as a primary point of contact for project owners, managing expectations, contractual obligations and potential claims.
• Subcontractor Management: Lead subcontracting strategy, procurement and buyout processes, negotiate contracts and purchase orders, and maintain commercial integrity.
• Risk Management: Develop mitigation strategies and manage contractual, financial and programme risks.
• Preconstruction & Design: Oversee design-phase activities on GMP and design-build projects, including guaranteed maximum price and lump-sum submissions.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Proven experience leading data centre construction projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
