Job description

About Megaport

We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 600 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Our Team Culture

We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.

We’re committed to increasing representation in the tech industry and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Don’t meet every requirement? That’s okay. If you’re excited about this role, we encourage you to apply.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Network Strategy, the Data Centre Procurement Officer supports data centre strategy, procurement, and commercial activities across the Americas.

Working closely with the Director of Data Centre Strategy and regional colleagues across EMEA and APAC, the role supports Megaport’s global data centre footprint through commercial analysis, market intelligence, supplier management, business cases, and negotiations.

You will work with Network Engineering, Finance, Sales, Operations, and other stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, optimise costs, and support the delivery of a scalable and commercially efficient data centre strategy.

The role will build strong knowledge of Megaport’s data centre footprint, suppliers, and active initiatives, providing continuity across data centre activities while supporting expansion across the Americas and the wider global network.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support data centre strategy, procurement, and commercial activities across the Americas, including North America and Latin America.
  • Work closely with the Director of Data Centre Strategy and regional colleagues across EMEA and APAC.
  • Analyse and prepare business cases to support data centre expansion, optimisation, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Support supplier negotiations and manage commercial discussions with data centre operators and infrastructure partners.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual cost of goods sold (COGS) budget.
  • Collaborate with Finance to prepare monthly COGS reporting, including value-added commentary.
  • Provide monthly reporting on key performance indicators relating to data centre and network costs.
  • Engage with Network Engineering and Operations teams to support data centre strategy and network expansion.
  • Maintain market intelligence on data centre operators, facilities, pricing, and industry developments.
  • Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, contract, and commercial records.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as directed by management.
What We’re Looking For
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement, vendor management, business development, telecommunications, data centres, or a related field.
  • Experience managing contracts and suppliers, ideally across multiple vendors or regions.
  • Commercial understanding of data centre services, colocation, network transport, internet transit, or related telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and technologies preferred.
  • Confidence reviewing contractual terms and engaging with suppliers on commercial discussions and negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with experience in budgeting, business cases, or cost analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of activities, and work effectively across different time zones.
What We Offer
  • Flexible working environment – a remote-first culture with coworking options available.
  • Generous leave plans – including 4 weeks of paid annual leave, parental leave, birthday leave, and a purchased annual leave program.
  • Health and wellness support – through a wellness allowance and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Comprehensive learning support – generous study and training allowance plus 5 days of paid study leave
  • Creative, modern workspaces – designed to inspire when you’re not working remotely
