Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to safeguard mission-critical facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to alarms 24/7.

You will monitor electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, switchgear, PDUs, and fire/life safety, ensuring high availability of AWS infrastructure. Expect to work up to 12-hour shifts, travel between data center locations, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors per procedures and local law.
• Work schedule changes; shifts up to 12 hours and possible on-call rotations.
• Role may support multiple locations/sites.
