Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Leader of Turnover, Startup & Commissioning to guide complex data center projects from construction completion through commissioning to final turnover. You will direct dispersed teams, set execution standards, and align with stakeholders across Construction, Engineering, and operations.

You will manage system walkdowns, testing, documentation, and readiness milestones, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence while leveraging digital platforms for status and metrics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM, ME, EE, or related field.
• 12+ years in turnover, startup, commissioning on data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong understanding of system-based turnover and commissioning.
• Experience reading drawings and specs.
• Ability to lead dispersed teams and manage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement turnover, startup, and commissioning strategies, standards, and execution plans across projects and regions.
• Lead systemization, boundary development, turnover sequencing, and commissioning readiness planning.
• Provide leadership and technical oversight for construction completion, walkdowns, punchlists, pre-functional testing, startup, energization, functional testing, and integrated systems testing.
• Establish readiness criteria and stage-gate requirements for progression from construction through turnover and commissioning.
• Coordinate activities among Construction, Field Quality, Engineering, OEMs, trade partners, commissioning teams, and client stakeholders.
• Ensure testing, inspections, documentation, and turnover records are complete and accessible.
• Drive standardized turnover packages and digital tools across the portfolio.
• Provide technical leadership in diagrams, system architecture, controls, and commissioning requirements.
• Identify systemic issues and lead cross-functional resolution to protect safety, quality, schedule, and readiness.
• Develop organizational capability through mentoring and continuous improvement.
