Job summary

M.C. Dean in Tampa, FL is seeking a Telecommunication Engineer 2 to design, coordinate, and implement structured cabling for high-density AI-driven data centers. You will interface with customers, project leadership, and trades to develop constructible engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities include creating floor plans, riser diagrams, bills of materials, and acceptance test plans, while ensuring QA and adherence to NFPA, TIA, and BICSI criteria. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering field.
• 2+ years in telecom structured cabling incl. inside/outside plant.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Developing, Identifying, Coordinating, and Tracking project requirements.
• Coordinating communication connectivity requirements with stakeholders.
• Coordinating detailed telecommunications space plans with Architecture/MEP.
• Coordinating detailed telecommunications pathway designs with BIM/REVIT.
• Identifying, writing and responding to RFIs.
• Producing coordinated design and construction drawings in AutoCAD or REVIT.
• Producing telecommunications construction specifications based on project criteria.
• Creating and managing cable run lists and BOMs.
• Ensuring QA and adherence to MC Dean standards throughout the lifecycle.
