Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Telecommunications Field Engineer to support telecom construction on a large data center project in Abilene, Texas. You will coordinate daily field activities, track progress, assist with quality control, and collaborate with Superintendents and trade partners to ensure safe, compliant telecom delivery.

This role bridges engineering, planning, and field operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent field experience.
• 1–5 years of experience in construction, preferably telecom or data center projects.
• Basic understanding of structured cabling, fiber optics, and telecom infra.
• Willingness to work on-site in Abilene, TX with extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Field Support & Coordination: Support daily field operations for telecom and low‑voltage scopes, tracking progress and coordinating with Superintendents.
• Engineering & Documentation: Review and distribute drawings, specs, RFIs, and submittals; maintain as-built docs and testing records.
• Quantity Tracking & Reporting: Track installed quantities and progress; assist with forecasting and schedule updates.
• Quality Control & Safety: Perform field inspections to verify work to specs; support safety meetings and site inspections.
• Trade Partner & Crew Support: Interface with foremen and subcontractors to support daily execution and issue resolution.
