Job summary

Experis Technology Group in Palmetto, GA seeks a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 3 - Nightshift to support hardware deployment and daily operations. You will start up and shut down racks, servers, and switches, perform diagnostics, and escalate issues to leads to maintain uptime.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, basic hardware knowledge, and at least 1 year of IT equipment experience, with flexibility for non-standard hours.

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers and related components.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of hardware components following detailed instructions.
• Conduct post-execution quality checks for grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling per standards.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve hardware issues, replacing faulty components as needed.
• Decommission hardware for upgrades or refreshes, including memory upgrades and OS rebuilds.
• Communicate and escalate incidents to Data Center Technician Leads to minimize downtime.

As a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 3 - Nightshift, you will be an essential part of the Data Center Operations supporting the IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location: Palmetto, GA
Duration: 18 Months on W2
Pay Range:$35/hour+ Benefits & PTO

What's the Job?

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of hardware components such as racks, hard drives, and switches following detailed instructions and protocols.
• Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling according to safety and deployment standards.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve hardware issues efficiently, replacing faulty components as needed.
• Decommission hardware for simple upgrades or refreshes, including memory upgrades and OS rebuilds, adhering to standard procedures.
• Communicate, report, and escalated incidents promptly to the appropriate Data Center Technician Leads to ensure minimal downtime and operational continuity.
