Job summary

Google is hiring an Operations Technician in Texas to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software for cutting-edge infrastructure. The role includes configuring complex components like networks, routers, and switches, and may involve leading small project teams.

We expect hands-on experience with data center environments, strong collaboration, and willingness to work non-standard hours.

Qualifications

Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
Completion of the Google IT Support Professional Certificate program is preferred.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required or preferred.
Experience performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment or in similar roles.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure.
Maintain the security and integrity of data, and ensure proper data erasure in line with security standards.
Disassemble equipment at end-of-life through part replacement or maintenance in a team setting.
Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on hardware and infrastructure with defined solutions.
