Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Data Center Technician to guide the flow of hardware through the Integration Center and customer sites. You will rack, configure, test, and document equipment to meet client specs, often traveling for rack installations and service.

The role requires hands-on experience in rack fabrication, BIOS/AD familiarity, and strong communication. You will support field teams and adhere to security and operational policies while contributing to project success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A+ certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of rack fabrication experience.
• BIOS and Active Directory experience.
• IDRAC and DURBL experience.
• Ability to meet physical demands and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Racking servers, network hardware, and accessories per rack elevations.
• Interpret cable matrix and route cables port to port.
• Operate cable labeling machine and apply labels.
• Track assets assigned to DCT until rack build completion.
• Install components to servers and networking devices.
• Bench and un-bench items for configuration and testing.
• Package items for shipping and staging in warehouse.
• Capture asset information (serials, MACs, tags) for client systems.
• Suggest improvements to power and equipment loads when needed.
• Install racks at various customer sites and assist with repairs.
