Job summary

Mainz Brady Group is seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support server, storage and networking deployments in a high-performance data center environment. You should have 2+ years of rack and stack experience, strong knowledge of rack layouts, structured cabling, PDUs, and enterprise servers from Dell, HPE or similar.

You will follow deployment runbooks, perform basic hardware validation, maintain accurate asset documentation, and collaborate with Data Center Engineers and Network teams

Responsibilities

• Perform rack, stack, and cable installations for servers, storage, networking, and compute systems.

• Support hardware moves, adds, and changes (MACs) across data center floors.
• Follow deployment runbooks and engineering documentation.
• Conduct basic hardware validation, LED/port checks, and physical troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate asset tracking, labeling, and documentation.

• Adhere to all ESD, safety and security protocols.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician – L2 to support data center operations for a WWT customer within a GPU-dense, high-performance computing (HPC) environment.

This role will focus heavily on the physical deployment and maintenance of data center hardware, including rack and stack, structured cabling, server installation, hardware moves/adds/changes, and equipment decommissioning. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on data center experience, excellent attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rack-and-stack installation of servers, storage, networking equipment, and GPU systems.
• Install rails, mount equipment, label assets, and maintain proper airflow and cable management.
• Install, connect, and verify fiber and copper network cabling according to established data center standards.
• Connect and validate power using Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
• Perform hardware moves, adds, and changes (MACs) across the data center floor.
• Follow rack elevation diagrams, deployment runbooks, engineering documentation, and installation procedures.
• Conduct basic hardware validation and physical troubleshooting, including LED, port, power, and connectivity checks.
• Maintain accurate asset tracking, labeling, and deployment documentation.
• Partner with data center engineers and network teams during hardware deployments, migrations, and refreshes.
• Follow all ESD, safety, security, and equipment-handling procedures.
• Support hardware decommissioning and removal of end-of-life equipment.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on data center experience, including rack-and-stack installation.
• Strong hands-on experience installing and mounting enterprise servers and data center hardware.
• Experience with enterprise server platforms such as Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, including both fiber and copper.
• Understanding of server/network rack layouts and rack elevations.
• Experience working with PDUs and data center power connections.
• Ability to read and accurately follow rack elevation diagrams, deployment runbooks, and technical instructions.
• Familiarity with ESD procedures and safe handling of sensitive hardware.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within established data center standards and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely work within confined rack environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in hyperscale or GPU-dense data centers.
• Exposure to high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale hardware deployments, refreshes, or migrations.
• Knowledge of hot/cold aisle containment and data center airflow best practices.
• Basic familiarity with Linux is helpful but not required.
