Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Data Center Technician to assemble, test, and deploy data center infrastructure on customer projects. You will perform rack builds, hardware installs, cabling, and documentation, with travel to client sites for deployment and maintenance in enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale environments.

The role emphasizes reading engineering drawings, following safety procedures, and documenting test results while supporting moves, adds, and changes within active data centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in data center ops, rack integration, hardware deployment, or related tech field.
• Experience reading rack elevations and cable maps; fiber/copper cabling skills.
• Experience in hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble data center racks per drawings and docs.
• Rack-and-stack servers, storage, and networking gear.
• Install, terminate, label, troubleshoot fiber/copper cabling.
• Read deployment docs and rack elevations; support deploy projects.
• Travel up to 50% domestically for installations and moves.
• Test, document, and validate equipment readiness; perform quality checks.
