Job summary

IDR, Inc. in Livermore, CA is seeking a Data Center Technician to support rack builds, hardware installation, cabling, and asset tracking in the data center. Role includes travel to customer sites for installations, service, and repairs.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of rack fabrication/build experience, plus ability to read rack elevations and cable documentation. Strong troubleshooting skills are a must.

• Ability to read rack elevations and cable matrix documentation.
• Experience working with servers, networking equipment, cabling, and hardware components.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support rack and stack servers, network hardware, and accessories using rack elevation documentation.
• Read cable matrices and complete port-to-port cabling and labeling.
• Install or upgrade server and network components, including memory, CPUs, expansion cards, and modules.
• Configure, test, and prepare equipment for deployment.
• Track equipment and capture asset information, including serial numbers, asset tags, and MAC addresses; package and stage completed equipment for shipment.
• Travel to customer sites to perform installations and support field service teams.
