Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician (2nd Shift) in Livermore, CA to support rack builds, install hardware, and manage asset tracking. The role requires traveling to customer sites for installations and field service support, with emphasis on reading rack elevations and maintaining cable matrices.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year in rack fabrication, experience with servers and networking gear, and strong troubleshooting abilities, in a fast-paced data center environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of rack fabrication/build experience.
• Ability to read rack elevations and cable matrix documentation.
• Experience with servers, networking equipment, cabling, and hardware components.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support rack and stack servers, network hardware, and accessories using rack elevation documentation.
• Read cable matrices and complete port-to-port cabling and labeling.
• Install or upgrade server and network components, including memory, CPUs, expansion cards, and modules.
• Configure, test, and prepare equipment for deployment.
• Track equipment and capture asset information, including serial numbers, asset tags, and MAC addresses; package and stage completed equipment for shipment.
• Travel to customer sites to perform installations and support field service teams.

IDR is seeking a Data Center Technician (2nd Shift) to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Livermore, CA. This role involves supporting rack builds, hardware installation, cabling, configuration, testing, and asset tracking within the Data Center. The position also includes travel to customer sites to assist with rack installations, service, and repairs.

Position Overview for the Data Center Technician:

• Support rack and stack servers, network hardware, and accessories using rack elevation documentation.
