Job summary

UST in Houston, Texas is seeking a Data Centre Technician to join the onsite client lab. You will assemble, configure, and test server hardware, install OSes, perform BIOS/firmware updates, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve platform issues.

The role requires 5+ years in data center server lab/validation, hands-on Linux/Windows/VMware experience, and strong documentation skills. It also involves 24/7 support with shift work and extensive cabling and rack duties.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing Linux, Windows, and VMware OS images with drivers.
• Strong hardware debug, BIOS/BMC flashing, and firmware validation skills.
• Experience with diagnostics, triage, and root-cause analysis in data-center environments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, configure, and test server hardware platforms for bring-up.
• Install operating systems and drivers; perform BIOS, firmware, and BMC updates.
• Debug platform issues with cross-functional teams and document results.
• Rack, stack, cabling, and maintain detailed hardware/software configurations.
