Job summary

Service Robot Co. in Texas is seeking a hands-on technician to install and maintain hardware inside data centers. You will work with remote engineers to complete physical tasks such as installing servers, running cables, and replacing failed parts.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and willingness for overnight maintenance. Training includes online courses and industry certifications; first assignment is paid and supported remotely.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support, cabling, AV, electronics repair, or building computers.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and keep accurate records.
• Comfort working independently and communicating with remote engineers.
• Availability for overnight maintenance work.
• Comfort working on your feet in cold, noisy rooms with hearing protection.
• Ability to pass a background check and site security screening.

Responsibilities

• Install, cable, and label servers, switches, and storage equipment.
• Replace drives, memory, power supplies, fans, and optical components.
• Test repairs before closing work tickets.
• Run, terminate, and test copper and fiber cabling.
• Follow diagrams, work instructions, and approved maintenance schedules.
• Give remote engineers clear updates on what you see and do.
• Record equipment serial numbers, connections, and locations.
• Follow site security procedures when removing or disposing of hardware.
