Job summary

Reboot Monkey is hiring a Data Center Technician in Fairfax, VA for a full-time on-site role. You will install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment, perform structured cabling, and manage hardware deployments while monitoring power, cooling, and security systems.

The role requires 3+ years of data center operations experience, strong documentation, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs. Certifications such as CDCP/CDCS/CDCE or vendor/network certs are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years data center operations experience
• Expert cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber)
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Experience with DCIM platforms
• Vendor certs (Dell, HPE, Cisco) preferred
• Network certs (CCNA, JNCIA) preferred
• ITIL knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber)
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security)
• Respond to incidents and troubleshoot
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades
