Job summary

Cologix in Columbus, OH is seeking a Datacenter Technician to oversee daily operations and maintenance of data center infrastructure, including cabinets, cross-connects, and telecom equipment.

You will perform installs, testing, and troubleshooting, manage vendor maintenance, and participate in on-site duties with a 7/24 on-call rotation. Strong fiber and copper knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical training preferred.
• 2–3 years in critical facilities or data centers.
• Low voltage installation experience a plus.
• Fiber optic splicing experience a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, provisions, tests, and maintains copper and fiber media used for telecommunications.
• Install cabinets, equipment, and cross-connects; perform remote hands requests.
• Manage vendor maintenance of critical infrastructure equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting and repairs during events or equipment failures.
• Maintain site documentation for provisioning and capacity planning.
• Ensure security procedures for site access and data center operations.
