Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This role is part of the Critical and Technical Services function, focusing on technical maintenance in critical client environments.

Responsibilities include daily site inspections, responding to BMS alarms, collaborating with third-party vendors, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline with apprenticeship or equivalent with 1–2 years of job-related experience
• In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered
• Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this role
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment
• Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment
• React to BMS alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed
• Work with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and laws
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on all equipment
• Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC problems
• Perform building walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDU’s and utilities
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects
