ManpowerGroup is seeking a Data Center Technician to join its IT Operations team in Northlake, IL. This 18-month contract role features day and night 12-hour shifts (alternating 3/4 day weeks) and a focus on hands-on hardware startups, troubleshooting, and decommissioning.

The ideal candidate brings Data Center experience and CompTIA A+/Server+ credentials, with flexibility for non-standard hours. You will participate in grounding, cabling, and quality checks, while supporting hardware upgrades

Qualifications

• Candidates with Computer Science majors or CompTIA A+ or Server+ certifications.
• Experience as a Data Center Technician with hardware break-fix responsibilities.
• Previous experience with Geek Squad or similar computer repair roles.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
• 1+ year of IT equipment support experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends/holidays.

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a Data Center Technician to join their team. As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of the IT Operations Department supporting the Data Center team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Data Center Technician - Technical IT

Location: Northlake, IL

Duration: 18 month contract

Pay Range: $25-$28/hour on W2

Day & Night Shift available; 12 hour shifts; alternating 3/4 day work weeks

What's the Job?

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of IT equipment , following specific instructions and safety protocols.

• Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues , quickly identifying causes and performing break-fix repairs on faulty components.

• Decommission hardware for system refreshes, including memory upgrades and OS rebuilds .

• Monitor systems for equipment failures or errors and respond to program error messages effectively.

What's Needed?

• Computer Science majors OR CompTIA A+ or Server+ certifications .

• Experience as a Data Center Technician , with hardware break-fix responsibilities .
