Job summary

ManpowerGroup Global, Inc. seeks a Data Center Technician - Logistics & Inventory Operations in Northlake, IL on an 18-month contract. The role supports inventory management, data processing, and logistical coordination in a world-class data center environment.

The position offers 12-hour day and night shifts, with a 3/4 day work week rotation, and a pay range of $25-$28 per hour on W2. The ideal candidate has warehouse and data center experience and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in warehouse ops, supply chain, inventory management, retail, or related field.
  • Previous data center experience is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with inventory audits, tracking and material management.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting shipping, receiving, logistics or inventory in a technical setting preferred.
  • Leadership experience with suppliers is a plus.
  • Flexible for non-standard business hours including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, including PO receiving and inventory movements.
  • Perform physical inventory tracking, staging, audits, and data corrections for accuracy.
  • Support shipping, receiving, material movement, and warehouse operations per procedures.
  • Conduct data-bearing device destruction per documented procedures and compliance.
  • Monitor systems for equipment failures and escalate as needed.
  • Respond to program errors by identifying/resolving or escalating.
  • Assist testing and troubleshooting of new programs and systems with technical teams.
  • Use Microsoft Office to track inventory, update records, and generate reports.
  • Support regulatory, compliance, and certification audit activities in the data center.

Data Center Technician - Logistics & Inventory Operations

Location: Northlake, IL

Duration: 18 month contract

Pay Range: $25-$28/hour on W2

Day & Night Shift available; 12 hour shifts; alternating 3/4 day work weeks

What's the Job?
  • Coordinate and execute incoming and outgoing deliveries, including purchase order receiving and inventory movements.
  • Perform physical inventory tracking, staging, inventory audits, and data corrections to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support shipping, receiving, material movement, and warehouse operations following established processes and procedures.
  • Conduct data-bearing device (DBD) destruction activities in accordance with documented procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance issues and elevate concerns as needed.
  • Respond to program error messages by identifying and resolving issues or escalating appropriately.
  • Assist with testing and troubleshooting new programs and systems alongside technical teams.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications to track inventory, update records, and generate reports.
  • Support regulatory, compliance, and certification audit activities within the data center environment.
What's Needed?
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, supply chain, inventory management, retail, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a data center environment required.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail with experience performing inventory audits, tracking, and material management activities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting shipping, receiving, logistics, or inventory processes within a technical environment preferred.
  • Leadership experience overseeing or directing supplier resources is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
