Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Technician to support LAN rooms and network infrastructure across commercial facilities in the NYC metro area. This is an on-site role based in New Rochelle, NY, with a 6-month contract to hire.

You will perform rack & stack installations, install and troubleshoot cabling, support patch panels and switches, and manage UPS, PDU, ATS, and environmental monitoring systems. A minimum of 2+ years in data center or network infrastructure is required.

• Hands-on rack & stack and structured cabling experience.
• Working knowledge of power and environmental monitoring systems.
• Experience with network hardware, patch panels, and switch connectivity.
• Strong professionalism and communication skills.

Our client is seeking a Data Center Technician to support LAN rooms and network infrastructure across commercial facilities throughout NYC, Long Island, and Staten Island.

Contract Length : 6 Month Contract to Hire

Responsibilities

• Perform rack & stack installations of network and data center equipment
• Install, terminate, and troubleshoot CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A cabling
• Support patch panels, network switches, and cable management
• Maintain and troubleshoot UPS systems, PDUs, ATS, and environmental monitoring equipment
• Provide day-to-day support for LAN room operations and infrastructure upgrades

Requirements

• 2+ years of data center, network infrastructure, or low-voltage experience
• Hands-on experience with rack & stack and structured cabling
• Working knowledge of power and environmental monitoring systems
• Experience with network hardware, patch panels, and switch connectivity
• Strong professionalism and communication skills

Description of work to be performed: Install, maintain, and support network infrastructure equipment in LAN rooms and commercial facilities, including rack and stack installations, structured cabling, patch panel work, cable management, equipment troubleshooting, and support of UPS, PDU, ATS, and environmental monitoring systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New Rochelle, NY.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
