UST is hiring a hands-on Data Center Technician to support day-to-day data center infrastructure operations in Colorado. You will perform rack-and-stack, hardware startups, and provide L1 physical connectivity support across Cisco/Aruba networks, with focus on HPE/Dell servers and cabling.

The role requires lifting 50+ lbs, knowledge of ITIL processes, and the ability to coordinate with remote engineering teams. Eligible employees receive comprehensive benefits and a strong compensation range.

Role description

Data Center Technician

The Role

UST is searching for a hands-on Data Center Technician professional to support day-to-day data center infrastructure operations.

What You'll Do

• Perform hands-on support for servers, storage systems, network equipment, racks and related data center infrastructure.
• Rack, stack, install, remove and physically inspect IT equipment.
• Perform hardware startup and shutdown activities according to established operational procedures.
• Provide hands-on support for enterprise hardware platforms such as HPE and Dell servers.
• Assist remote infrastructure teams with physical troubleshooting and component identification.
• Use crash carts for local access and troubleshooting.
• Provide Layer 1 / physical connectivity support for network infrastructure.
• Work with Cisco and Aruba networking equipment.
• Install, trace, label and troubleshoot network cabling.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What You Need

• It requires a mix of hardware proficiency, basic networking knowledge, and strict adherence to safety and operational protocols (like ITIL)
• Physical: Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or under raised floors.
• Technical: Familiarity with server vendors ( HPE, Dell, Aruba, Cisco) and cable types (LC/SC Fiber, RJ45).
• Tools: Proficiency with crash carts, cable testers, label makers, and basic hand tools.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication for relaying real-time status to remote engineers
• Strong communication is important because the associate will frequently work as the onsite technical resource while coordinating troubleshooting activities with remote engineering teams.

Location & Compensation

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Compensation Range:

$56,000-$84,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.
