Job summary

UST is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer in Plano, TX to ensure scalable, reliable enterprise and cloud applications. You will design and execute performance tests using LoadRunner, monitor with Dynatrace, and validate AWS-based architectures across environments.

The role collaborates with architects, developers, DevOps, and SRE teams, and integrates testing into CI/CD pipelines while delivering clear dashboards for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Hybrid work location in Plano.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing using LoadRunner.
• Strong proficiency with Dynatrace for application performance monitoring and diagnostics.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
• Basic to intermediate Linux skills, including shell scripting, system monitoring, and file management.
• Familiarity with scripting languages: Shell, Bash or Korn; solid understanding of system architecture, cloud computing, and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance test strategies including load, stress, endurance, scalability, and spike testing.
• Develop and maintain LoadRunner scripts (VuGen, Controller, Analysis) for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
• Monitor performance using Dynatrace to identify bottlenecks and perform root-cause analysis.

• Execute and validate performance tests for AWS-based architectures (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda).

• Prepare and present clear performance reports and dashboards for stakeholders.

Senior Performance Test Engineer

The Role

UST is searching for an experienced Senior Performance Test Engineer with strong expertise in LoadRunner, Dynatrace, and AWS to ensure scalability, reliability, and optimal performance of enterprise and cloud-based applications.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and execute performance test strategies including load, stress, endurance, scalability, and spike testing.
• Develop and maintain LoadRunner scripts (VuGen, Controller, Analysis) for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
• Monitor application and infrastructure performance using Dynatrace, identifying bottlenecks and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Analyze system metrics such as CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network utilization across environments.
• Execute and validate performance tests for AWS-based architectures, including EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and Lambda.

What You Need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

OR

Equivalent relevant professional experience in performance testing and engineering.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing using LoadRunner
• Strong proficiency with Dynatrace for application performance monitoring and diagnostics
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and Lambda
• Basic to intermediate Linux skills, including shell scripting, system monitoring, and file management
• Technical & Domain Skills:
  • Familiarity with scripting languages: Shell, Bash or Korn
  • Solid understanding of system architecture, cloud computing, and networking fundamentals
  • Experience analyzing and correlating performance data across application, middleware, and infrastructure layers

Location & Compensation

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

$78,000-$117,000
