TEKsystems in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an entry‑level Low Voltage Cable Technician to support data center construction projects. You will work with experienced technicians to install cabling infrastructure powering some of the world’s largest data centers.

No prior data center experience is required, and training is provided to motivated individuals. The role is full‑time, on site with day shifts and overtime available, offering a path to long‑term growth in a technology‑driven field.

• Install, route, dress, and secure copper and fiber optic cabling in large data center environments.
• Pull cables through overhead pathways, trays, underfloor systems, and designated routes.
• Label, test, and document installations according to project specs and quality standards.
• Assist with equipment rack installations, mounting, and structured cabling activities.
• Read and follow work orders, drawings, and project plans.
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain organized work areas in data center cleanliness standards.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet installation milestones and deadlines.
• Identify and report installation issues, damaged materials, or safety concerns.
• Participate in ongoing training on low voltage systems and data center infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals coming from construction, warehouse, landscaping, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, manufacturing, military, telecom, or other labor-intensive backgrounds who want to break into the technology industry.

You’ll work alongside experienced technicians installing the cabling infrastructure that powers some of the world's largest data centers. No previous data center experience is required. We provide training for motivated individuals who are eager to learn, work hard, and build a long‑term career.

What You’ll Do

• Install, route, dress, and secure copper and fiber optic cabling throughout large‑scale data center environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
