Job summary

TEKsystems in Monroe, LA is seeking a Communications Technician II for a large-scale data center project. You will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling, Cat5/Cat6, patch panels, racks, and network hardware in a fast-paced environment.

This contract role offers onsite work, company-provided lodging, per diem, and competitive hourly pay. Candidates should be hands-on with low-voltage cabling, fiber installations, and testing, and be safety-focused to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience with pulling and terminating low-voltage cabling (Cat5/Cat6).
• Ability to install and terminate copper/fiber terminations and organize telecom closets.
• Safety-focused and able to work in fast-paced construction/data center environments.

Responsibilities

Communications Technician II / Cable Technician

This opportunity is located in Rayville, Louisiana. This opportunity is building one of the biggest data centers in the region. There is company provided free lodging and per diem paid for all out of town technicians.

The Communications Technician II is responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems in a large-scale data center environment. This role involves pulling and terminating Cat5/Cat6 cabling, installing and configuring patch panels, outlets, faceplates, racks, and network hardware, as well as performing fiber optic installations and testing. Technicians will build and organize telecommunications closets, complete copper and fiber terminations, identify active voice and data circuits, and utilize testing equipment to troubleshoot connectivity issues. Candidates should have hands-on experience with low-voltage cabling, punch-downs, routers, switches, and structured cabling infrastructure. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and capable of working in fast-paced construction and data center environments, including working at heights, lifting equipment, and meeting project deadlines. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
