Lightning AI is seeking a Data Center Technician for our Puyallup, WA HPC Data Center. You will monitor hardware, assist with power and network operations, and maintain server and cabling standards.

Ideal candidates have Linux and networking experience, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work in a 24/7 environment with on-call duties. On-site role with comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in data centers and critical infrastructure systems such as power distribution, airflow management, environmental monitoring, capacity planning, DCIM software, structured cabling, and cable management.
• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Experience setting up networking appliances (Ethernet and InfiniBand).
• Attention to detail: precision in debugging work and documenting fixes/chang es.
• Resourceful problem-solver who can figure out solutions under constraints.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 environment with on-call rotation and after-hours support.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain hardware in the data center, including configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting assistance.
• Diagnose and resolve system/compute/network issues to restore functionality.
• Ensure new server, storage, and network infrastructure is properly racked, labeled, cabled, and configured.
• Troubleshoot server hardware and software issues.
• Become a subject matter expert on all physical data center aspects from power deployment to cabling infrastructure.
• Proactively monitor onsite hardware to prevent failures.
• Collaborate with HW Support to resolve infrastructure-related tickets.
• Coordinate with RMA team for faulty parts and replacements.
• Create installation standards and documentation for placement, labeling, and cabling.
