Job description

We are looking for a highly quantitative problem solver to join the Infra Data Center Strategic Planning team. In this pivotal role, you will be part of the team that builds Meta’s global data center roadmap, develops end-to-end infrastructure growth strategies, and develops capacity plans that set the direction for one of the fastest growing platforms in the world. As a Data Center Strategic Planner, you will have the unique opportunity to drive critical decision analyses and planning programs that efficiently scale our data center footprint to meet rapidly growing demand for AI and Meta’s family of products and services. You will engage in transformational strategic initiatives and capacity programs from inception, evaluating trade-offs, driving strategic recommendations to executive leadership, and seeing them through to implementation. This individual contributor role is inherently cross-functional, requiring collaboration with key data center stakeholders across capacity engineering, network strategy, data center design & construction, site selection, energy, site & facility operations, and finance.

Data Center Strategic Planner Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate cross-functionally to define problem statements and develop analytical models that shape industry-leading data center strategies to support growth in AI and Meta’s family of products and services.
  2. Develop and utilize a decision analysis framework to evaluate major data center investments, identifying comparative trade-offs that inform strategic decision-making.
  3. Play a critical role in managing data center supply planning programs and developing strategies for building data center capacity, enabling the business to get ahead and stay ahead of demand volatility.
  4. Apply quantitative techniques to generate actionable insights and recommendations, separating signal from noise for executive communication and decision making.
  5. Lead and support various ad hoc projects to advance Meta’s data center strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  2. 3+ years of professional experience in strategic planning, technology strategy/consulting, investment banking, corporate development, technical program management, or supply chain optimization.
  3. Proven business acumen and intuition, with experience in hypothesis-driven analysis and communicating recommendations to diverse audiences.
  4. Proven analytical and quantitative skills, with experience collaborating with data science/engineering teams to develop actionable insights.
  5. Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively across internal organizations and building trusted working relationships.
  6. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, rigorously prioritizing initiatives, and adapting to change.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Currently pursuing or holding an MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  2. Relevant experience in infrastructure strategy and planning, with a focus on cloud/infrastructure/AI scaling and optimization projects.
