Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Start-Up/Commissioning Lead for an onsite data center project in Spartanburg, SC. You’ll manage a diverse team, coordinate the commissioning and startup of mission-critical systems, and guide teams through testing and readiness.

The role requires a BS in engineering and 5–14 years in data center commissioning, travel readiness, and OSHA 10. Jacobs offers comprehensive benefits and competitive salaries, with a base pay range described.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
• 5–14 years of Start-Up and Commissioning experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience leading commissioning of critical systems with cross-discipline coordination.
• Willingness to travel and on-site work; OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop Start-Up and Commissioning Plan and strategies.
• Lead Start-Up and Commissioning Plans for Electrical and HVAC systems.
• Generate and execute Start-Up and Commissioning documents.
• Startup equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Facilitate meetings for the Start-Up Team.
• Maintain action item lists and change control logs.
• Provide technical assistance and input.
• Coordinate OEM Service technicians as needed.
• Coordinate with turnover teams for seamless transition from construction to commissioning.
• Apply engineering knowledge of mission-critical HVAC, electrical distribution, backup power, instrumentation, controls, and automation.
