Job summary

Jacobs is hiring a Start-Up/Commissioning Manager for an onsite data center project in Spartanburg, SC. You will lead a diverse team, coordinate commissioning activities, and ensure successful startup of critical systems on a fast-paced site.

The role requires 5–14 years in data center commissioning, supervisory experience, and travel willingness. OSHA 10 and MS Office skills are essential, with knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems guiding onboarding and operations.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
• 5–14 years of Start-Up and Commissioning experience in data centers.
• Experience managing commissioning of critical systems.
• Supervisory/managerial experience with cross-discipline coordination.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel and onsite work.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience standardizing processes across locations.
• Track record coordinating multi-site teams.
• Travel between project sites to provide oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee start-up, energization, commissioning, and visual inspection of facilities.
• Develop Start-Up and Commissioning Plans and execution strategies.
• Lead the team in developing system start-up and commissioning plans for electrical and HVAC systems.
• Generate and execute Start-Up and Commissioning documents.
• Startup equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Facilitate meetings for the start-up team and maintain action items.
• Maintain engineering change control logs and provide technical input.
• Coordinate OEM service technicians and turnover teams for seamless transitions.
• Apply knowledge of mission-critical HVAC, electrical, and automation systems.
