Job summary

Google seeks a Data Center Site Lead for Global Server Operations to own the site’s server and network infrastructure. You will oversee state-of-the-art physical infrastructure powering Google’s search tech, ensuring reliability and performance through expert leadership and cross-functional alignment.

The Site Lead manages Data Center Leaders and Technicians, overseeing deployment, maintenance and high-risk operational transitions with contingency planning and KPI tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams responsible for hardware servers and components.
• 3 years of site-level data center operational leadership.
• 3 years in a people management or team leadership role.
• Experience with Linux/other OS and developing network architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends, nights, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team; set priorities and coach performance and development.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to manage facility activities and strategies.
• Maintain and monitor security and operational procedures; analyze trends for improvements.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, and infrastructure.
• Support EHS/compliance programs and investigations with other teams.
