Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Senior Technician to join our Buffalo, NY team. This on-site role runs Monday–Friday, 7 am–5 pm EST, with after-hours on-call support as needed.

You will manage MAC requests, supervise technicians, mentor staff, and perform hardware installs, cable routing, and tape operations while maintaining inventory and safety standards. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Data Center Operation.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within a Data Center.
• Minimum 5 year of experience performing Data Center-Tape Operations/Smart hands/Device reboots-Tape Operations/Smart hands/Device reboots

Responsibilities

• Manage MACs and move, add, change requests including hardware installs and network cabling.
• Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues and replace faulty components.
• Check supplies in and out from inventory management system and keep it current.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area; secure tools after shifts.
• Provide data center escorts as requested and perform QA checks on work orders.
• Be part of on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when required.

We are currently seeking a Data Center Senior Technician to join our team in Buffalo, New York (US-NY), United States (US).

NTT DATA, Inc. currently seeks a Data Center Technician to support our client's data center and IT closets in Buffalo, NY. This position is on-site Monday-Friday.

Position Requirements:

• Management of work order queue
• Assigning technicians and scheduling shift activity
• Training and mentoring technicians
• Communicating with peer lead technician from other shifts for operational handoffs
• Day to day delivery of all move, add change (MAC) requests including hardware installs and network cabling
• Completing hardware break/fix tickets such as troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues and replacement of hardware components
• Checking supplies in and out from inventory management system
• Keeping inventory current & accurate using DC Portal
• Maintaining work area in a safe and orderly manner. Tools and supplies are properly put away after every shift.
• Providing data center escorts as requested
• Performing QA checks on work orders
• Performing backup tape operations and amber light tours
• Be part of on call rotation and provide afterhours support when required

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of Data Center Operation
• Minimum 5 years of experience within a Data Center
• Minimum 5 year of experience performing Data Center-Tape Operations/Smart hands/Device reboots-Tape Operations/Smart hands/Device reboots

Preferences:

• Ability to communicate (oral/written) effectively to exchange information with our client.
• Generate and communicate ideas to improve processes for the client

Required schedule availability for this position is Monday-Friday. The general coverage is 7 am to 5 pm EST and be on call for after hours support. The shift timings can be changed as per client requirements.

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is $72,000-90,000. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
