NTT DATA North America in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Data Center Senior Technician to manage MAC requests, hardware installs, and network cabling in a fast-paced on-site environment. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the data center work order queue.
• Assign technicians and schedule shift activity.
• Train and mentor technicians.
• Coordinate handoffs with peer leads across shifts.
• Deliver MAC requests including hardware installs and network cabling.
• Troubleshoot hardware and replace components.
• Audit inventory using DC Portal.
• Maintain a safe, orderly work area.
• Provide data center escorts as requested.
• Perform QA checks on work orders.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support.
• Perform backup tape operations and amber light tours.

We are currently seeking a Data Center Senior Technician to join our team in Buffalo, New York (US-NY), United States (US).

NTT DATA, Inc. currently seeks a Data Center Technician to support our client's data center and IT closets in Buffalo, NY. This position is on-site Monday-Friday.

Position Requirements

• Management of work order queue
• Assigning technicians and scheduling shift activity
• Training and mentoring technicians
• Communicating with peer lead technician from other shifts for operational handoffs
• Day to day delivery of all move, add change (MAC) requests including hardware installs and network cabling
• Completing hardware break/fix tickets such as troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues and replacement of hardware components
• Checking supplies in and out from inventory management system
• Keeping inventory current & accurate using DC Portal
• Maintaining work area in a safe and orderly manner. Tools and supplies are properly put away after every shift.
• Providing data center escorts as requested
• Performing QA checks on work orders
• Performing backup tape operations and amber light tours
• Be part of on call rotation and provide afterhours support when required

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Data Center Operation
• Minimum 5 years of experience within a Data Center
• Minimum 5 year of experience performing Data Center-Tape Operations/Smart hands/Device reboots-Tape Operations/Smart hands/Device reboots

Preferences

• Ability to communicate (oral/written) effectively to exchange information with our client.
• Generate and communicate ideas to improve processes for the client

Required schedule availability for this position is Monday-Friday. The general coverage is 7 am to 5 pm EST and be on call for after hours support. The shift timings can be changed as per client requirements.

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is $72,000-90,000. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

• This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
