Job summary

International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is seeking a Senior Construction Manager for a high‑volume data center program in Austin. Senior Construction Manager - Data Centers

If you are a Senior Construction Manager running heavy mission-critical builds on the GC side, you already know the drill - long hours, thin margins, and chasing sub performance for someone else’s asset.

I have exclusively partnered with one of the fastest-growing, privately-backed Data Center Developers in the US. Unbothered by market slowdowns, they are aggressively expanding an ~85 MW regional pipeline across Central Texas, anchored by a flagship 60 MW phased ground-up campus in Austin breaking ground right now.

We are looking for a heavy-hitting Senior Construction Manager to sit on-site, drive daily execution, hold the GC accountable to the GMP, and serve as the final owner-gating authority across the entire build.

• Location: Austin, TX (100% Onsite Field Leadership)
• Compensation: $190,000 – $220,000 Base + 30% Bonus + Full Package
• Scope: 60 MW Phased Mission-Critical Campus (Part of an ~85 MW regional pipeline)

What you will actually be doing

• CM/GC & GMP Accountability: Drive daily on-site execution, strictly enforce the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and critical path schedule, lead trade buyouts, and audit pay applications, lien releases, and potential change orders (PCOs).
• Cost, Schedule & Field Controls: Master the site budget and cash flow forecasts, audit Primavera P6 logic, execute field recovery plans when float vanishes, and eliminate delay claims.
• On-Site Leadership & Safety: Chair weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) and Commissioning Readiness meetings, enforce a zero-incident safety culture (OSHA / NFPA 70E / LOTO), and direct the on-site Project Engineer.
• Heavy OFCI Gear Lifecycle: Direct the end-to-end supply chain, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), delivery, rigging, and setting of long-lead gear (MV/HV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and chillers).
• Commissioning Authority: Serve as the final owner gating authority for L1–L5 commissioning and blackout failure testing under load, drive AHJ energization approvals, and manage live-environment civil expansions safely.

What we are looking for

• Track Record: 4+ years of direct experience leading ground-up data center or mission-critical delivery (as an Owner’s Rep, Developer PM, or Lead CM on CMAR/GMP projects).
• Commissioning Command: Proven experience driving L1–L5 commissioning through final Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Software & Credentials: OSHA 30 required (PMP or CCM is a plus). Proficiency in Primavera P6, Procore/ACC, and Bluebeam.
