Job summary

EHSCareers is seeking a Safety Specialist for a major data center project in Rock Hill, SC, within the Charlotte metro area. This permanent role focuses on maintaining strong safety standards across the site, partnering with leadership, subcontractors, and field teams to drive performance and compliance.

The ideal candidate has a BS in safety or related field, 3+ years in construction EHS, OSHA 30, and certifications like ASP/CSP are a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of EHS/Safety experience within construction.
• Data center or large-scale construction experience desirable.
• OSHA 30 required; ASP/CSP or similar certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively with field teams and project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of site health and safety programmes.
• Partner with project leadership and field teams to maintain high safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with company policies and OSHA requirements.
• Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and employee coaching.
• Build strong relationships with employees, subcontractors, and project leadership.
• Monitor safety performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Promote a proactive and positive safety culture across the project.
