Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Hardware Engineer to design, prototype, and bring to production mechanical and thermal systems for data-center robotics.

You will own hardware from concept sketches through prototyping, validation, and ramp, collaborating with robotics software, electrical, and ML teams to meet sensor mounting and thermal budgets. The role requires strong CAD/FEA/CFD skills, experience with prototyping, and a track record of driving DFM/DFA across manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD modelling software such as SolidWorks or MATLAB.
• Experience with prototyping and implementation.
• Experience with robotics work cells or thermal management hardware (cooling, manifolds).

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of hardware design from concept to production.
• Partner with robotics software, electrical, and ML teams to meet sensor/thermal specs.
• Validate designs with CFD/FEA and support design-for-manufacture.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure DFM/DFA.
• Drive continuous improvements and risk mitigation across the program.
• Communicate program status and decisions to stakeholders.
