Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support Mission Critical data center projects in Des Moines, IA. The role emphasizes rigorous site inspections, documentation, and adherence to quality plans and contract documents.

Responsibilities include planning inspections, managing non-conformance, and coordinating with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams. Strong communication and LEAN experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of construction-related experience required.
• LEAN principles experience desirable; Data center experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand project scope, quality requirements and contract docs; ensure construction aligns.
• Schedule and conduct site inspections and quality surveillance for daily and upcoming work.
• Prepare inspection/test plans; document testing, measurements and reports; compile turnover docs.
• Identify non-conforming work and track on the non-conformance log; assist with reporting.
• Oversee daily construction reports, punch lists, quality reports and as-builts.
• Stay current with federal, industry and company standards; educate teams on compliance.
• Partner with safety to identify hazards and remediation needs.
• Ensure inspections and punch lists are stored per company policy.
• Monitor adherence to quality plan; propose updates for management.
