Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead mission critical/data center projects from planning through completion.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams, build client relationships, and mentor junior engineers while growing the Mission Critical practice. This role offers hybrid work and opportunities to work on hyperscale and colocation data center developments.

Qualifications

  • PM experience delivering mission critical or data center projects.
  • Background in engineering consultancy, owner's representative, or mission critical design environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical building systems in data centers.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and client relationships.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation data center projects is highly desirable.
  • PMP certification is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Lead project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, technology).
  • Monitor performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Review technical deliverables to ensure quality and client expectations.
  • Support construction administration, commissioning, and project close-out.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and pursue repeat business.
  • Mentor junior engineers and grow the Mission Critical group.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple mission critical/data center projects from planning through project completion.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource planning to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and technology disciplines.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on schedule.
  • Review technical deliverables to ensure quality standards and client expectations are achieved.
  • Support construction administration, commissioning activities, and project close-out.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business and future projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and project team members while contributing to the continued growth of the Mission Critical group.
Skills/Must Have
  • Previous Project Management experience delivering mission critical or data center projects.
  • Background within an engineering consultancy, owner's representative, or mission critical design environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical building systems within data centers.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects and client relationships.
  • Knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation data center projects is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
  • PMP certification is advantageous but not essential.
