Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Project Engineer for the Hermiston, OR area. The role involves maintaining project schedules, managing submittal approvals, coordinating material deliveries, and controlling budgets under the guidance of the Project Manager.

The successful candidate will have a B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering, 0–4 years of progressive construction experience or internships, and familiarity with OSHA requirements. OSHA training is required within six months.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; entry level to 2 years or 2–4 years of progressive construction experience.
• New hires must sign up for OSHA courses and complete them within six months of employment.
• Organizes people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
• Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines under pressure and with incomplete information.
• Exhibits commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager and manage submittal approvals.
• Coordinate timely delivery of materials and maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Establish site utilization plans and support Loss Prevention, Sustainability, and Quality Control programs.
• Develop submittal logs, coordinate subcontractor orientations, and manage drawing coordination with subs and suppliers.
• Submit owner-required close-out documents and assist in training and documentation.
